About the Role

Purpose - Support the transformation of the International Mobility function in line with our Strategy and the ongoing evolution of the function - To be part of a team of trusted mobility specialists, whose advice is actively sought and who provide internal consultancy and leadership for International Mobility - To lead a small and integrated regional IM function - Deliver an exceptional experience for all stakeholders Primary Focus - As the Europe Region International Mobility Manager, you will be responsible for the end-to-end process for global and domestic assignments, as well as inputting into the development of associated global and local policies and procedures - Demonstrate a strong customer service mindset. A desire to deliver exceptional service to internal clients and assignees - Build capability within the regional team and provide leadership regarding mobility to the business Reporting Line - Accountable to: International Mobility Lead, London & Regional People Leader, Europe - Responsible for: International Mobility Consultant

What You're Gonna Do

Responsibilities: - Working with key internal stakeholders including local People Business Partners and the business to input into the development of world-class global mobility programs and initiatives - Pro-actively contribute to and support the successful implementation of global initiatives in the region - Partner with external vendors to maximise the relationships and vendor activity in relation to relocation, work permits, visas, and taxation - Ensuring tax compliance for assignees in conjunction with Arup’s preferred providers ensuring adherence to the tax policies - Ensuring compliance for all assignees relating to visas, work permits and social security requirements - Manage regional budget for compliance purposes - Provide a decision and escalation point for the People Team regarding the application of assignment policies and processes and ensure they are clearly understood and consistently applied - Manage the compensation and payments related to the assignment, including payroll instructions, and loan account instructions - Actively seek to benchmark our offering against those of our competitors within the Region and recommend changes/improvements as required - Carry out the pre/post assignment briefings and orientation of the assignee on Arup’s policy, including compensation details where applicable - Implement Global Mobility policies within Europe Region - Ensure smooth transfers of staff and their families in line with policies - Data integrity accountability for mobility owned data - Provide the business with pragmatic solutions that are in the spirit of our ways of working, always having a broader global mindset - Seek feedback from those on assignment and make recommendations on what can be improved as a result - Work with the business and HR to develop a culture where mobility is seen as career-enhancing and the assignee feels ‘connected’ and valued at both ends of/throughout the experience - Actively seek to benchmark our offering against those of our competitors within the Region and recommend changes/improvements as required Key Arup Relationships: - International Mobility team (global) - People Business Partners & Local People Teams - Resourcing team - Arup assignees & staff - Tax/Payroll/Finance teams

About You

Knowledge, Skills & Experience: - Significant knowledge and experience of international mobility, policies, processes, and systems - Relevant international mobility experience in a complex, multinational organisation - High level of attention to detail and timeframes– particularly when working under pressure - Strong commercial acumen and analytical skills with the ability to develop business cases for change - Strong relationship skills and the ability to foster open communication to ensure efficient flow of quality information - Experience identifying and resolving issues independently - solid sense of accountability and sound personal judgment - Strong service orientation with a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations - ability to serve multiple clients (staff, leaders, People Team) - Excellent written and verbal communications skills - Ability to interface with all levels of the organisation - Ability to use International Mobility Technology as well as other relevant HR systems - Bachelor’s degree in business, HR, or related field – preferred - 7+ years related work experience - Valid EU work permit - Ability to work from one of our Europe Region offices - Fluency in English Personal Attributes: - Strong client and service delivery orientation, warm friendly and human approach to service - Non-hierarchical, with the ability to engage and communicate with people at all levels in both technical and non-technical environments - Ability to maintain personal effectiveness particularly during periods of higher-than-normal workload - Ability to remain positively motivated at times of significant pressure, including assisting others to meet deadlines - Self-aware, understands their role in the team and takes responsibility for own actions - Have a passion for people - enjoy looking for ways to improve and step up our quality and level of service
