About the Programme

PPS’s Placemaking: Making it Happen training is an intensive two and a half day course that builds on participants’ knowledge of Placemaking concepts and provides the tools to implement and manage Placemaking projects. Speakers include individuals who have direct, hands on experience in Placemaking and many of the presentations will focus on recent success stories. The course provides an overview of Placemaking principles and methodologies, a description and interactive activity of Placemaking tools and techniques, and multiple presentations to provide participants with creative ideas for implementation and management of their placemaking projects. Key issues that will be discussed in the Placemaking: Making it Happen training course include: Placemaking and agendas for transforming cities; Lighter, Quicker, Cheaper; key elements to public space implementation and management; tools and techniques to evaluate your public spaces; and architecture of place. Scholarships are available for applicants that can demonstrate financial hardship. The deadline to apply for scholarships is Friday, March 8th, 2019.

Who's Coming

Placemaking: Making it Happen is geared toward professionals and students who have an understanding of Placemaking and are currently working on Placemaking projects either personally or professionally. The training presents an incredible opportunity to learn from professionals and network with other Placemakers. We encourage teams of professionals embarking on a new project to register as a group to maximize their collective impact on the implementation and management of Placemaking projects.
