About the Role

Happy City is a Vancouver-based urban planning, design and architecture consultancy. We use the science of wellbeing to create healthier, happier and more inclusive communities. As a Digital Communications Coordinator, your job will be to help share our learnings and stories with the whole world. You will help people understand that city design can make or break human wellbeing. You will be responsible for managing Happy City’s external communications platforms, including the website and social media platforms. You will play a key role on the PR team, working closely with project leads and management to share our exciting work with the public.

What You're Gonna Do

- Managing social media platforms using Hootsuite - Creating clear, compelling content to share across Happy City social streams - Creating and maintaining a content calendar for social media publications - Managing the WordPress website - Updating blog posts and recent projects as needed - Providing graphic design support on client work, including project reports, presentations and print media - Support the writing of marketing material including press releases, articles, blog posts and website content

About You

- Clear communicator with strong writing skills - Exceptional interpersonal skills - Strong organizational skills with the ability to work independently and in a team - Excellent knowledge of various social media platforms and tools including Hootsuite, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn - Knowledge of WordPress - Strong graphic design skills, including rendering & photo manipulation skills, with good working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator - AutoCAD/technical drawing skills considered an asset - The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated passion for urban design, planning or architecture - Applicants must be between 15 and 30 years of at age at the start of the internship and must have recently (within 2 years) completed post-secondary studies - Applicants must be legally entitled to work in Canada
