About the Role

We are looking for a Policy and Government Affairs Manager to join our team in Helsinki. Our company's operational model, vision and values are strongly rooted in the open ecosystem approach. Therefore we always work closely with the public sector, ensuring that together we move closer to sustainable urban mobility where both the cities and the people are better off. We are seeking a passionate mobility policy geek to join our team. In this role you will be advocating for smooth operations in heavily regulated environments. Your role is to navigate through complex policy landscapes and to ensure the policy frameworks are aligned with the open ecosystem principles. You will be working closely with most teams at MaaS Global (legal, business development & go-to-market, product and data, communications), including different country teams and reporting to the Head of Ecosystem and Sustainability.

What You're Gonna Do

- Proactively initiate and develop relationships with policymakers and their staff, ensuring MG is seen as a trusted expert partner in building a future sustainable transport system. - Effectively represent MG and its vision in the political and policy forums. - Own and advocate policy initiatives as prioritized according to company strategy. - Track policy initiatives and legislative proposals on national level and specifically in the EU, working closely with the legal team. - Support the business development teams in ensuring smooth market entry by building and developing close ties with the public sector stakeholders regionally and nationally. - Drafting position papers, policy proposals, and consultation responses, clearly communicating MG's policy stances. - Build and maintain policy repository to support the company's various teams in engaging with public stakeholders. - Manage public affairs agency and consultant relations in specified projects.

About You

- A strategic thinker, being able to analyse complex policy and regulative initiatives quickly and summarize their possible impact on MG's operations. - A strong communicator, a natural in high-level decision-maker environments. Proven skills in clearly and effectively coveying complex issues to key stakeholders. - A self-starter but a true team worker. - Ability to connect the dots between policy and business, and executing the necessary actions to ensure smooth operations. - Deep knowledge of government and politics, specifically knowledge of EU transport policies and regulations an advantage. - Travel required. NICE-TO-HAVE - 5+ years' experience in government, policy and political affairs. - Experience in the transport and mobility policy sectors, driven by the passion of making a change in the sustainable mobility space.
