About the Role

The Economic & Social Advisory offering at Urbis has been bolstered by the appointment of our newest Director, Richard Gibbs. As the former Director and Global Head of Economics with Macquarie Group, Richard has over two decades of experience in formulating and presenting commercially-attuned & policy-sensitive analysis and advice to clients. We are currently accepting expressions of interests for Consultant, Senior Consultant and Associate Director candidates, to join Richard as he grows his practice in Sydney. This is an amazing opportunity for highly motivated and diligent consultants, with a passion for applying economic principles and methods to social issues. The successful candidates will be contributing to the management of research projects, utilising a variety of applied economic research techniques including quantitative evaluation of social policy.

What You're Gonna Do

- Provide advice based on qualitative and quantitative analysis using economics tools that include (but are not limited to): - Cost benefit analysis (including triple bottom line assessment), - Economic impact assessments, - Econometric modelling - Input-Output (I-O) analysis - Social return on investment indicators - Work collaboratively with team members or autonomously when required - Manage budgets and timelines for projects as directed - Cultivate positive relationships with internal and external clients - Support the delivery of strategic Economic & Social advisory projects and other national/regional initiatives - Assisting with forecasting, project budgeting and financial management as directed

About You

- Experience in a fast-paced consulting and/or strategic advisory environment - Client relationship management expertise - Strong quantitative and qualitative research and analysis skills - High level of analytical ability - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills - The ability to write and present complex data simply - The ability to identify practical and realistic solutions for our clients - Project management skills - A passion for continual learning and contributing to community outcomes - Tertiary qualifications in Economics, Commerce, Finance or a related discipline
