Uber for Cities seeks to deliver products that increase mobility, safety, and sustainability for all city residents - from accessibility in the app to tools for physical infrastructure like the curb. As a Senior Public Policy Associate for Cities, you will be the connective tissue between policy and technology and serve as the organizing function for a cross-functional team. The ideal candidate for this role gravitates towards problems--and excels at defining and administering solutions. They should have structured thinking, great problem solving, excellent stakeholder management and the ability to clearly communicate, listen and present. You will need to have a solid foundation in urban mobility policy and relating it to business problems and opportunities. You’re a people person, comfortable with policy experts, product managers, and decision-makers, and can communicate in a clear and actionable fashion. You’re a superstar project manager who can hold multiple outcomes in place, bring shared goals to life, and bring people together to make things happen.

- Define the operating structure and processes to implement on policy and product strategy - Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product, engineering, operations, marketing, policy and communications to drive system development end-to-end from ideation to production. - Be the point person for responding to inbound requests from city stakeholders on partnerships with Uber and corralling stakeholders across requests. - Maintain regular communications with key stakeholders across the organization; own the communications vehicles. - Ensure functional stakeholders are aligned on key objectives for the program / product - Advise product teams on the global needs of a product and a solution’s feasibility throughout the product development lifecycle. - Collaborate with key stakeholders (legal, tax, policy, support, etc) to prepare product for launch - Track core business metrics related to the product. Lead monthly program reviews with Cities cross-functional leads. - Identify key problem areas and/or geographies impacted by the product post-launch. - Collaborate with policy experts and data scientists to surface and advocate for key insights from the business to inform product improvements. - Present findings to senior management to inform business decisions.

- Minimum 3 years of experience in operations, business consulting, finance or similar analytical role - Leadership experience - Excellent communication, the ability to engage internal and external customers - Deep understanding of the user experience - Ability to leverage data to inform and support critical decisions - Ability to create strategic alignment by bringing key stakeholders across functions together - A desire to learn, highly motivated self-starter, with an eagerness to learn and grow - Ability to foster collaboration and facilitate teamwork - Effective prioritization - Bachelors or Masters degree in public policy, urban planning, transportation planning, public health, or other policy oriented experience. (Advanced degrees are a plus) - Experience working in technology, civic tech, or in the quantitative urban planning space is a plus. - Geospatial data analysis (PostgreSQL, GIS, or their equivalent in Python or R), and developing and optimizing complex queries (SQL, Presto, and Hive) a plus
