About the Role

The International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) is in search of a research intern with a passion for public health and the built environment to support the Standard Development team in advancing the WELL Building Standard™ (WELL). WELL is a performance-based system for measuring, certifying and monitoring features of buildings that impact the health and well-being of the individuals who live, work and learn in them. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to work with a diverse team of public health professionals, engineers and designers and learn about various concepts at the intersection of health, the built environment and communities, including: air quality, water quality, nutrition, light, movement, sound, thermal comfort, materials, mental health and community.

What You're Gonna Do

- Assist in conducting basic research and literature reviews of various topics related the WELL concepts - Assess and organize various types of information and/or data across multiple WELL concepts, including public health, socio-economic, demographic and market research data - Synthesize and collate various evidence in a concise and effective manner - Support concept advisory call presentations and communications - Assist with source management in large documents using EndNote citation management software - Assist in editing and preparing articles, presentations and webinars

About You

- Junior or Senior Bachelor’s degree candidate, Bachelor’s degree holder, Master’s degree candidate or four years of experience in Public Health, Urban Studies, Engineering, Nutrition, Architecture, Environmental Science, Environmental Health, Urban Design or closely related field - Excellent writer and strong ability to synthesize various types of information (research, public health, guidelines, etc.) - Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills and commitment to delivering high-quality work - Ability to thrive in self-managed and team-based work

What We Offer

Compensation: - This is a paid internship. Hourly rates are competitive and commensurate with prior experience. Notes: - Qualified candidates must have work authorization in the US. IWBI is unable to sponsor work visas for this position. - This internship is based in New York City. IWBI is unable to offer relocation assistance.
