About the Role

Our organising and political engagement team bring together organisations, elected representatives and communities. They creatively define, develop and deliver a shared vision for change, putting people at the heart of the problem-solving processes. Working with client organisations and the communities they serve, your role will help develop and deliver the right approaches to achieve this, tailoring the best practice to the specific situation. As part of a growing team, you’ll report to our Organising and Political Engagement Director and work closely with colleagues across the organisation to shape, deliver and share impactful projects. You’ll work alongside some of the most prominent minds in the industry, for a company that’s leading 21st-century organisation design. This role is full-time and fixed-term for one year, with the possibility of extension or this becoming a permanent role.

What You're Gonna Do

- facilitate agile delivery of complex projects, helping teams break down goals and tasks, and coach people through change by leading by example - help set the strategy for projects and ensure they’re properly resourced, within budget, removing blockers to teams delivering - build narratives around projects to bring stakeholders on board and help teams define measures of success - build products and services through design-build-test cycles and help teams to consider wider service or political implications - introduce new ways of working at multiple levels and help build business cases for change and future delivery - happy to travel to client sites as and when necessary

About You

You’ll be a creative thinker with experience in community engagement and/or democratic participation. Using your knowledge, you’ll be comfortable working with others to suggest the best approach for the specific situation and deliver solutions. You’ll enjoy learning and working in multidisciplinary teams to deliver impactful work in a fast-paced environment. Adaptable and organised individuals who are responsive to change will be welcomed by a company that values contribution from the team, diversity of thought and integrity. - experience of community engagement and/or democratic participation approaches, e.g. community assemblies and/or participatory issue selection and engagement tools - ability to apply these virtually, meeting the need of the time we find ourselves in - strong moderating, hosting and/or facilitation skills e.g. able to run citizens’ assemblies and bring different groups and voices together - strong project and time management skills, able to own the delivery of an approach - experience of reporting back to a range of stakeholders (internal and external) - ability to work to and thrive on a deadline - ability to write and support the development of proposals for clients - a passion for and belief in our mission, the roles that organisations and communities can play in creating lasting change and in the real value of local voices and lived experience - awareness of the need for diversity and/or representation in this work, and experience in locating and working with groups and voices that may be harder to reach - strong interpersonal skills and the ability to develop good relationships with key stakeholders at a range of levels - experience of working in or with local government, wider public sector organisations, or in a similar environment such as the charity sector or political world - the ability to share your skills with others - desirable experience of storytelling, to share the journey and impact of your projects with clients, sales, communication and marketing teams - problem solving skills and a proactive approach - ability to work remotely from home and to travel to other areas as needed (when and where safe), likely running evening and possibly weekend sessions at times
