Architect, urban planner and geographer (PhD), Dr. Simone Safe is Assistant Professor in the Department of Geography and Urban Planning at Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi, where she leads the Master’s programme in Urban Planning and Development – Urban Innovation and Sustainability (URBIS). Her research focuses on urban health, salutogenic landscapes, biophilic design and environmental inequalities, exploring how urban form and ecological planning can contribute to healthier, more resilient and socially equitable cities. Her work bridges urban planning, landscape architecture and public health through interdisciplinary approaches developed across North Africa, Latin America and the Middle East.
