About the Event

II Edition of the International Forum "Our city, our space" - Toward sustainable living modes From November 16th - 19th, 2021. Sponsored by the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund (CAPF) and with the support of PlacemakingX, the event will be in session with an online and bilingual format, led by Cuban professionals. The forum is structured in four workshops: - Local development (Nov 16th) - Sustainable mobility (Nov 17th) - Recycling (Nov 18th) - Alimentary and Nutritional Safety (Nov 19th) Among the forum's keynote speakers, we are honored to announce Fred Kent, Jan Gehl and Guillermo (Gil) Penalosa. We are also thrilled to welcome Placemaking leaders like Ethan Kent, Luciana Renner, Guillermo Bernal, Boopsie Maran, as well as other remarkable speakers like Pablo Navarrete, Andre Viljoen, Ambreen Waheed and others.

About Us

The International Forum “Our City, Our Space” is a discussion platform to promote placemaking strategies towards the sustainable development of Cuban communities. Sponsored by the Chevening Alumni Programme Fund, and with the partnership of PlacemakingX, the forum invites community leaders, architects, communicators, urban planners, sociologists, designers, artists, economists, students, environmental experts and specialists in sustainable development from Cuba and worldwide to develop a meaningful debate in order to promote and support sustainable living modes in the island. It also aims to share and raise awareness of the New Cuban Urban Agenda 2036, while addressing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2, 3, 11, 12 13 and 17 of the United Nations.
