About the Event
"Bridge To" is a curatorial platform and cultural space for architecture and urbanism based in Kyoto, Japan. In early 2023, our new library is set to launch — a private gallery and library that showcases a collection of publications and items in the fields of architecture and urbanism. This open call invites designers, creators, studios, and companies who are interested in showcasing their work at Bridge To Kyoto.
Since 2020, Bridge To has been serving as a residence for urbanists as well as an event, workshop, and gallery space. It is based in a newly renovated postwar Kyoto-style home with a stream in front, adjacent to the Philosopher’s Path. It has hosted many creative-minded people from varied backgrounds from around the world since its opening, as well as a multitude of talks, workshops, performances, and exhibitions.
In 2023, we’re shifting our service from a residency to a private gallery and library in order to welcome a more diverse group of people. The library will be regularly open to the public, showcasing our collection of publications and items in the fields of architecture and urbanism with the intention of creating a hub for open research and dialogue. Thus, we’re looking for publications and other related items under the themes of urbanism and architecture to be displayed.
